MY NAME IS VIREENA
I always start with the eyes ….
I am a watercolour artist specialising in animal portraiture – not just painting any dog – but truly working to capture the personality and soul of real animals.
Most of my career has been spent in the structured world of manufacturing so painting is my creative alter-ego. My passion is, and always has been, animals – all animals. Personally I have horses, dogs and fish and compete as an amateur in dressage.
I always start a painting with the eyes – for me they truly are key to capturing the soul of any sentient being. I know I have it right when a client says, with a tear in their eye “You’ve captured his personality perfectly”.
The creation of "Finn". A smartphone photograph, then come the eyes followed by the rest of the subject.
